This World Down Syndrome Day on 21st March, we’re celebrating one simple but powerful message:
We Are Born To Belong.
Belonging means being included. Being valued. Being seen.
It means no sidelines, no exclusions, no barriers - just community.
At Ups ‘n’ Downs, we have spent 20 years supporting children and young people with Down syndrome and their families. This year, as national conversations continue around SEND and inclusion, we are proud to use our voice to champion a future where every child truly belongs.
Whether you’re a family, school, workplace or community group - there’s a way for you to get involved.

Join the #LotsOfSocks Movement. During March, wear your brightest, boldest, most colourful socks to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. Socks are used globally because chromosomes look like socks under a microscope and chromosome 21 is what makes our community beautifully unique.
